Helping support the needs of motherless children.
Who We Are
The Crazy Good Foundation was incorporated in 2019 by a brother and sister, Kristian and Anna, who lost their mother during childhood. Kristian and Anna are deeply committed to helping others through the difficult experience of losing a mother as a child by offering support services at free or reduced fee amounts.
Support Services
Grief Counseling
Grief counseling is a powerful healing tool for people who have lost loved ones. We understand first hand how painful, confusing, and complicated the grieving process can be, especially as children. We know that grief counseling can help. CGF connects the surviving partner/guardian, as well as the motherless children, to grief counseling professionals. Services are provided at free or reduced rates and can be conducted in person or through phone, Skype, or email. Although CGF is not liable for service encounters, we implement a vigorous vetting process to ensure we are connecting clients to the very best service providers available.
Legal Counseling
Anyone experiencing the loss of a loved one will likely encounter issues that require legal consideration and action. CGF connects clients to legal counselors who can help guide surviving partners or guardians through various legal matters that may arise from a death. Services are provided at free or reduced rates and can be conducted in person or through phone, Skype, or email. Although CGF is not liable for the services provided, we implement a vigorous vetting process to ensure we are connecting clients to the very best service providers available.
Financial Counseling
When a parent dies it can throw the family into financial turmoil. CGF connects clients to financial advisors who can help guide surviving partners or guardians through various financial matters that may arise from a death. Services are provided at free or reduced rates and can be conducted in person or through phone, Skype, or email. Although CGF is not liable for the services provided, we implement a vigorous vetting process to ensure we are connecting clients to the very best service providers available.
Support Group Referrals
Feeling isolated and alone after the death of a partner or mother is unfortunately common. Moreover, it is debilitating and potentially dangerous for the surviving partner and/or children. Grief support groups provide understanding, empathetic, and welcoming arms to those who are grieving. Support groups are typically comprised of people who have experienced similar losses and are able to identify with much of what a grieving partner and children are going through. Group identity mitigates isolation and aids greatly in the healing process. CGF connects clients with support group options. Depending on the locality and preferred modality of the client, the grief support group options may include faith-based organization support groups, on-line support groups, and face-to-face secular support groups. CGF will work with clients to help them choose which option best fits their needs.
Access to resources
There are many changes that occur when a family member dies. Every family is different and therefore every loss represents a unique set of challenges. These challenges oftentimes require resources to overcome. Because the challenges are unique, the resource requirements may also be unique. They can include such things as childcare, transportation, food, clothing, translation, and medical advisement/care. It can be difficult learning how to navigate the additional responsibilities and new necessities of a motherless household. CGF helps clients identify and access local and on-line resources that are unique to their own needs and experiences.
Social Service Referrals
Many people, especially when distraught, are unable to identify social services available to them in their local communities. It is also not uncommon that grieving families may not have the time, energy, or knowledge to navigate access to those social support services even if they are aware of their availability. CGF assists with identifying, connecting, and guiding clients with available social support services in their communities.
